Stacie Fox, MS CCC-SLP
Owner/Lead Therapist
Stacie Fox is a graduate of California State University, Northridge and holds a Masters Degrees in Communication Disorders. She also holds the Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), Virginia state licensure and is a member of the Speech Language Hearing Association of Virginina (SHAV). She has over 10 years of experience in Communication Sciences.
Stacie began her career as a school Speech Language Pathologist in Nevada public schools. There she served several populations including clients with Angelman Syndrome, Down syndrome, Noonan syndrome, DiGeorge syndrome, Fragile X, among others, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Hearing impairment, Receptive and Expressive Language delays and disorders, as well as Speech Sound Production Disorders. In that setting, she specialized in early childhood, but also gained vast experience in such areas as: phonological therapy, apraxia therapy, functional communication and pragmatics, language therapy, discrete trial training, applied behavioral analysis, speech sound production therapy, phonological awareness, auditory processing, voice therapy, stuttering, augmentative communication, as well as oral motor therapy.
After several years in the schools, she expanded her skills to include working in the private practice environment serving the pediatric population. There she gained valuable experience with working directly with children and their families with several different diagnoses, including feeding issues, as well as leading social skills groups.
Stacie has also worked in the hospital setting with the geriatric population as part of an inpatient rehabilitation program. There she become well versed in modified barium swallow studies, as well as assessing and treating patients with dyphagia, apraxia and dysarthria, aphasia, memory, dementia, traumatic brain injury, and right hemisphere neglect. Her hospital experience also included working with feeding issues with newborns in the NICU . In all of her experiences, she has worked collaboratively with parents, families, teachers, physicians and nurses, occupational and physical therapists, as well as other staff members. 
In 2009, Stacie and her family were relocated to Virginia where she has been working in private practice. Sensing a great need for quality speech and language services in the Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania area, she decided to open Fox Speech Therapy Services. She is looking forward to being a great resource and support for parents, children and their families.
Stacie continues to have a strong passion for serving the pediatric population. Stacie has received special training and continuing education in several areas including: PROMPT, Beckman Oral Motor Therapy, Oral Placement Therapy, Oral Motor Therapy, Sensory Processing Disorder and Multisensory techniques, ABA training, PECS training, Hodson cycle approach to Phonological remediation, Voice, Fluency, Apraxia, Kaufman Speech to Language Protcol, iPad application usage for AAC and speech and language interventions, Auditory Processing and Executive functioning, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, as well as Feeding including the Food Chaining strategy. Her continuing interest and dedication to the field motivates her to continue with learning and utilizing the most effective techniques that best suit each individual client.
